Archaeopteryx was about the size of a raven and is considered to be somewhat of an early bird. It had feathers all over its body, most notably on its forelimbs and hindlimbs, as well as its tail. It also had a toothed beak and three fingers with claws. The Solnhofen limestone represents an area of placid lagoons with high salinity and low oxygen. A less known fact about the Archaeopteryxs found at Solnhofen is that they are all juvenile, we have no evidence of an adult Archaeopteryx. #dinosaurs #birds #evolution #paleontology #flight #Germany
