Today, I was offered a flight in a Fighter Jet by a friend - a real combat jet that saw fire in Vietnam & has the patches to prove it! A friend had it flown from Sydney to Gold Coast (900 KMs) for a special business conference to do some aerobatic maneuvers to promote his business. He said if I could pay for the fuel (OMG, jet fuel is not cheap!), I could go for a ride. I said, "Yes, without a doubt, YES!! I'll find the cash somewhere!!" So here I am, 45 barrel-rolling, loop-the-looping minutes later, sitting at a Pub, buying my pilot a beer! What a legend! I cannot express how exciting it was to fly up to 4Gs over the beautiful terrain of mountains, farms, valleys, & beach, or the exhilaration I felt when I took the controls & performed my own barrel-roll maneuver, squealing the whole way around!
